Where the solution began

Micro City PL: the system behind Maqster

Maqster grew out of a custom system developed and tested on the working Giga Makieta Polski exhibition at Micro City PL in Lublin. The software is developed by Sebastian Rzepa, creator of Micro City PL, who combines 22 years of programming experience with hands-on design, construction and operation of large model layouts.

This story explains the solution's origins. The standalone Maqster app is in prelaunch, while exhibition implementation projects can be discussed and quoted now.

The starting point: a working layout

Location

Giga Makieta Polski at Micro City PL in Lublin. The source system was created and developed at this exhibition.

Creator

Sebastian Rzepa, creator of Micro City PL and its control software. He combines programming experience with building and operating the layout.

Practical experience

Lighting, motion, audio and sensors tested at a working exhibition during daily shows. Custom software modules were developed during its operation.

From building to operation

Control from an operator's perspective

Building a layout and running shows brings everyday tasks into focus when designing software. The order in which devices start, a clear way to select a scene and the ability to check whether an element responds as planned all matter. This practical work shaped the needs behind the system's development.

For another exhibition, that experience becomes a starting point for questions. What should visitors see? Which devices need to work together? What does the operator start, and what responds to a signal? The answers lead to a script and control choices suited to the installation.

Each layout has its own mechanisms, connections and operating method. The scope of a new implementation is therefore based on its documentation and presentation goals. See how to prepare an implementation discussion.

From the source system to the Maqster app

Experience from Giga Makieta Polski forms the basis for developing an app to design lighting, motion, audio and input-triggered control. The module descriptions show how these functions can be used in further projects. Explore conditions and sequences, mechanism control and the connection architecture.

The standalone app is in prelaunch. Licensing information leads to the existing Free, Pro and Business plans. Signing up for launch news lets you receive a message when the app becomes available.

Questions about Micro City PL and Maqster

Where was the system behind Maqster used?

The source system was developed and tested on the working Giga Makieta Polski exhibition at Micro City PL in Lublin. The creator's section on the Maqster homepage also presents this information.

Who created the software?

The system is the work of Sebastian Rzepa, creator of Micro City PL. He combines programming experience with the design, construction and operation of large model layouts.

What is the current stage of the standalone app?

The standalone Maqster app is in prelaunch. You can sign up for availability news and explore the feature and plan descriptions.

Can we discuss control for another exhibition?

Yes. Implementation discussions and individual quotes are available now. A new project's scope is defined around its script, devices and operating conditions.
