Exhibition lighting

Give your show
the right light

Connect DMX fixtures to your layout scene. Control lighting channels and groups so day/night transitions and effects also cover the space around the exhibit.

Layout and surrounding lighting in one scene

What you can do

DMX fixtures
in time with the scene

Plan addresses and channel functions, then combine lighting with the rest of the show.

DMX512

Use DMX-controlled lighting through a compatible interface.

Addresses and channels

Assign functions according to the channel map of the fixture or controller.

Fixture groups

Combine lighting in exhibition zones and control it together.

Day and night

Save lighting changes on the timeline alongside events on the layout.

Light and colour

Set the functions your fixtures support, such as brightness and colour.

One shared sequence

Combine DMX actions with model lighting, movement and audio in the scene.

Ideas for your project

How will you use it
on your layout?

01

Dusk over the layout

The exhibition lighting gradually changes character as the lights in buildings come on.

02

Light guides the visitor

A selected group of fixtures draws attention to the part of the layout currently being presented.

03

A show with a setting

Colour and lighting intensity around the exhibit accompany movement, effects and sounds on the layout.

Devices and connections

From the scene
to exhibition lighting

The app sends settings through a supported interface to the DMX line. Fixtures respond to the channels assigned to their addresses and operating modes.

Light guides the visitor

During a presentation of a battlefield model, selected fixture groups could guide attention across different areas of the terrain. Lighting then returns to a calm overall view. DMX can bring this layer into the scenario alongside model lighting and narration, provided the interface and fixture functions are compatible.

For museums and exhibitions

What to prepare

Prepare a list of fixtures and drivers with their channel maps, operating modes and addresses. The installation needs a compatible interface, a correctly installed DMX line and device power supplies. The plan defines groups, light levels and transitions. An on-site trial checks whether lighting makes the model easier to understand without disturbing neighbouring stations.

Scope and limits

DMX carries settings; it does not alter the power installation or guarantee compatibility with every fixture. Channels must match the selected device mode. Exhibition effects are kept separate from building safety and emergency lighting. An existing system is assessed from its documentation, not from the connector alone.

Questions before implementation

Can model lighting and DMX fixtures work together?

A shared scene sequence can be planned for both layers. It needs separate compatible control paths and agreed timings and levels. Testing covers the complete presentation rather than a single lamp.

Can fixtures already installed in the gallery be used?

First, the fixture models, available DMX modes, addressing and cabling are checked. If another controller manages them, responsibilities and the switching method need to be agreed. Cooperation cannot be assumed automatically.
